Rambouillet Sheep

The Rambouillet breed was originally developed in France back in the 18th Century. At that time, the development of specific sheep breeds, with a focus on their specific qualities of their fiber was taking place. These were developed from seed stock from the Spanish Marino, which was obtain by Louis XVI. After which, their development was kept in tight control, none being sold until the 19th Century.

We shear our Rambouillet once yearly, and obtain their exquisite high micron wool fleece each spring. We have raw fleece, soft roving, batting, and yarn available for spinning, weaving, knitting, and crochet.

We also have breeding stock available, late spring, after weaning. Please call for availability.

Any animal not selected for our breeding program will be available for grass fed lamb in the fall.
